French Navy: Visit of the BPC Tonnerre authorities

Ludovic Poitou, commander of the BPC (Projection and Command Building) Tonnerre, vessel of the French National Navy, currently based in Saint-Martinoises waters, invited last Tuesday, the dignitaries of Sint Maarten, the governor Eugène Holiday, the first Minister William Marlin and the Minister of Justice Raphaël Boasman, as well as the Prefect Anne Laubies and the 2nd vice-president of the community, Yawo Nyuiadzi, for a visit of the building, the human and technical resources deployed in the territory since his arrival he 3 days ago.

Based in Toulon, Tonnerre is a multi-purpose combat building of 199 m, it deploys equipment (freight, vehicles, etc.) and human resources (528 soldiers, including 350 engineers) to help with post-Irma clearance and support for the population.

The prefect Anne Laubies and the President Gibbs wished by this initiative to allow the dignitaries of Sint Maarten to share the work of the French forces on the territory of the community, within the framework of cross-border cooperation.
