Tourism: State of the island's tourist infrastructure

Sell ​​a single destination. This is the ambition of the two parts of the island, gathered on Monday September 10 in the afternoon at the Oyster Bay Resort hotel.

They presented some figures to draw up an inventory of the main tourism infrastructures on the island.

• Currently 34 hotel establishments (including Time Share) open

• 25 closed

• 7 plan to open in the last quarter

• 45 hotel establishments should be opened in the first quarter of 2019

• Reopening of Oyster Bay Beach Resort since June 1, 2018

• And from Divi Little Bay Beach Resort on May 12, 2018

• The Sonesta Ocean Pont should reopen on November 15, and that of Maho on February 1, 2019

• In the second quarter of 2018, the Dutch part had 1307 rooms, or 34% of its capacity, and 1453 in the third (37%). It should have 2168 in the last quarter (56%) and 2726 in the first quarter of 2019 (70%).

• It also has 75 villas for rent.

• The Sint Maarten tourist office has also identified 53 players offering excursions at sea and inland. • As well as 159 restaurants on the two parts of the island.
