As part of Tourism Awareness, the training “How to welcome with a smile” was launched on Tuesday May 4 by the Saint-Martin Tourist Office. The Director General of the Tourist Office, Ms. Aïda Weinum, the trainers Dr. Gittens and Ms. Catherine Burns, the trainer Mr. Frantz Gumbs and Ms. Nathalie Pinthiere, responsible for promoting the local and regional market were present for this inauguration ceremony !

The promotion of our destination goes through the training of tourism professionals. This is the message that the Saint-Martin Tourist Office wants to convey with the “Tourism Awareness” program, launched in January. As a reminder, the desire is also to allow the population to create a strong feeling of belonging to their island, the Friendly Island, through the slogan "I am, you are, WE ARE Friendly Saint-Martin!" "

Thus, the 1st edition of the “Tourism Awareness Training” was organized from May 4 to 12 at Secrets Resorts & Spa and was intended for personnel from the tourism industry directly in contact with the public.

For the second part of this training, Mr. Frantz Gumbs shared his knowledge on the culture, history and geography of Saint-Martin during the morning. In the afternoon, the group left with him to rediscover Saint-Martin aboard a coach for a guided tour.

The objective is to enrich the discourse and knowledge on the destination of taxi drivers and more generally of all tourism professionals in contact with the public. This second session took place from Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 May.
