Last month, a softball tournament took place in Guadeloupe. A competition that brought together teams from Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique and Saint-Martin. And guess who won?
You understand ! The Saint-Martin team has particularly distinguished itself by winning all its matches, as well as the cups for best batsman, best pitcher and best receiver.
Victories and cups won thanks to the motivation of our Saint-Martin players, who left with the firm intention of not making the trip for nothing, and of representing the island of Saint-Martin with dignity. A mission more than accomplished which fully satisfied the entire softball staff.
Also, the SXM Sport Mouvement association is particularly proud of this trip to Guadeloupe. Participation in this tournament was made possible thanks to the support of the Sports Department of the Community and the Prefecture of the Northern Islands.
To thank these two entities for their support, the softball team and the President of the SXM association Sport Mouvement, Julius Richardson, presented, during a ceremony which took place in the premises of the Prefecture, a cup to the Prefect, Serge Gouteyron and a trophy to Wendy Gumbs of the Sports Department of the Community. _AF
