The “new” Omnisports hall in Galisbay, now called François Matthew Hall (Aka Guédé) was inaugurated last Wednesday, in the presence of the President of the Community, Aline Hanson, elected officials and representatives of the State.

A new parquet meeting the standards in force was installed, the lighting of the room is now equipped with LED bulbs, the changing rooms and the stands have undergone a serious facelift, the interior and exterior paintings have been redone, without forgetting a new outdoor area dedicated to Beach-Foot, Beach-Tennis, Beach-Volley and Beach-Rugby.

"The reopening of the Omnisports hall in Galisbay is an event for Saint Martin", underlines the President of the Community, Aline Hanson. “It was eagerly awaited and it symbolically illustrates the efforts implemented since 2013, to restore the sports facilities of the Collectivity to their letters of nobility and their primary utility: serving the population, especially the young generations. All of the collective facilities have been rehabilitated or are in the process of being rehabilitated, to give young people the means to flourish through sport.

Thanks to the State-COM development plan, we have proposed an ambitious program, ie more than 5 million euros invested in the territorial program for the renovation of sports infrastructure. I take this opportunity to thank the State and the Prefect for supporting the community in this program. Through this brand new equipment, the Collectivity realizes its wish to maintain and develop the sport practice but also and it is very important, to consolidate a real local associative life ”. Here is a reminder of the amounts invested in the program to renovate public sports facilities:

- Sports facilities at Concordia, Orléans, and Cul-de-Sac: € 650 - end of work in May 000.
