La Prime Minister of Sint Maarten announced that the schools will be closed from Wednesday March 18 for two weeks.
She also announced that businesses not essential to the life of the country will also be closed today, starting at 12 noon.
Silveria Jacobs also said that the measures are being taken in collaboration with the authorities on the French side.
