Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs confirmed yesterday in a press release the presence of the first positive case of COVID-19 in the territory of Sint Maarten.
He is a resident who has stayed in the UK and traveled via Miami. When he returned, he called 911.
A first test was carried out (the samples were sent to Guadeloupe editor's note) and was found to be positive. "This is one of five tests to be carried out, the samples will be sent to the Netherlands for confirmation," said the Prime Minister.
In the meantime, the person was placed in isolation at home for 14 days.
