A man died yesterday morning at the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital where he was admitted overnight for gunshot wounds. According to the first elements of the investigation, he was injured in Cole Bay on the Dutch side, on Welfare road Wednesday around 22:30.
In the evening, the Sint Maarten police were alerted to several shots. On the spot, the patrols discovered a man lying on the ground and shot in the leg. Witnesses said that two individuals dressed in black approached the victim as well as another man and shot them before fleeing to Cay Bay. The man on the ground explained to the police that his injured friend was taken to hospital by his relatives. The police learned later that he was taken to the French part. The second victim was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center. An investigation has been opened.
