The traffic department of KPSM (Korps Politie Sint Maarten) is investigating several traffic accidents that have occurred over the past few days.
One of these spectacular accidents took place on October 24 at around 11 a.m. in the Sucker-Garden area. According to the preliminary investigation carried out by law enforcement, it appeared that a scooter collided with the back of a car while driving up a hill. When the driver stopped at the top of the hill to check what had happened to his vehicle, he noticed that the handbrake was not properly applied and the vehicle began to roll back. The driver tried to get back into his vehicle to stop him, but he was unable to do so and ended up falling and injuring himself. It continued to back up and then crashed into the bushes along the road. The driver received first aid from ambulance personnel who arrived quickly on the scene and was transferred to the SMMC (Sint Maarten Medical Center)._AF
