The Collectivity of Saint-Martin and its Department of Statistics and Forecasting are launching a survey of hotel customers in order to better understand their travel habits.

The investigators will be in the field from November 15, 2022 to January 15, 2023 to collect customer opinions. These statistics will then be communicated to tourism stakeholders and may contribute to the implementation of their promotional campaigns.

The Collectivity of Saint-Martin and its Department of Statistics and Forecasting continue to carry out actions allowing in particular a better knowledge of the local economic fabric.

A new survey will soon be launched to precisely determine the typical profiles of tourists who choose the Saint-Martin destination. This survey will be conducted among hotel customers, from November 15, 2022 to January 15, 2023, it was set up in coordination with the partners of the COM, the Tourist Office and the Tourist Club.

Equipped with tablets, the interviewers will solicit hotel customers using a quick questionnaire of about 2 minutes, carried out on the basis of criteria constituting customer profiles.

The many lessons learned from this survey will allow us to refine our knowledge of our visitors, their precise origin or even to assess the real weight of the customers who systematically return to Saint-Martin.

This new survey dedicated to the tourism sector will provide a better understanding of the habits of tourists staying in hotels.

The results will be analyzed by the Department of Statistics and the departments of INSEE (Department of Guadeloupe) within the framework of their partnership. These will then be communicated to tourism stakeholders in the spring of 2023.
