In order to fight against road insecurity, the gendarmes of Saint-Martin organized last Friday, from 16:30 p.m. to 17:30 p.m., a control operation targeting two-wheelers.
Demonstrations of wheeling (when driving on the rear wheel), failure to wear a helmet, tampered with vehicles, speeding… Faced with the resurgence of numerous offenses committed on a daily basis generating serious, even fatal accidents, the gendarmes decided to intensify controls of scooters and motorcycles.
Thus, last Friday, the mobilization of many gendarmes made it possible to control several vehicles.
Various offenses were noted including 3 driver's license faults, 3 insurance faults, 2 failure to wear a helmet, 3 license plate faults.
In total, 1 scooter and 2 motorcycles were immobilized by the police.
Other checks of this type will be renewed regularly by the gendarmerie who are determined to make the roads of Saint-Martin safer. _AF
