As part of National Secularism Day, the education departments of the communities of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy are organizing this Friday, December 9, numerous events in schools and schools, as well as in the hall Omnisports de Galisbay.
December 9, 2016, the 111th anniversary of the 1905 law, is a day on which the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research wishes to give special solemnity. This anniversary provides an opportunity to recall the importance of a teaching of secularism, the founding principle of our School and of our Republic, as well as the values of freedom, equality and fraternity which are closely linked to it and which the 'School's mission is to transmit and share with students.
During this day, in the schools and educational establishments of Saint-Martin, the educational community as a whole was invited to take all educational initiatives, in particular to organize debates, conferences, meetings, likely to mobilize the reflection of the pupils and collective action for the enhancement of the meaning and benefit of the principle of secularism, in the Republic and in its School, for the freedom of each and the cohesion of all. _AF
