In the presence of the deputy, Daniel Gibbs, the director of Youth and Sports services of the Community, Charles-Henry Palvair, the head of social cohesion at the Prefecture, Marie-Hélène Coutant, the president of the ABSM Association, Laila Freedom, coaches, parents and players, Lyonel Agnes, director of the Association of Basketball players of Saint Martin (ABSM) had invited the press, last Monday, to highlight the work carried out by the ABSM with young Saint- Martinique since 2011.
The association's objective is indeed to promote education and citizenship through the practice of basketball, by promoting the development of young people through their integration into community life.
"Since 2011, more than 3 children have come to discover our sport," says Lyonel Agnes. "We also initiate baby basketball from the age of three every Wednesday afternoon"!
Present at the press conference, Daniel Gibbs congratulated the work carried out by all the leaders and educators of the ABSM.
These same leaders and educators who in turn thanked the MP for his financial support to the association for four years.
To conclude, Lyonel Agnes requested the intervention of companies with a view to organizing the 6 th edition of the ABSM basketball camp which will take place from 20 to 24 February 2017 at the Omnisports hall in Galisbay (10-17 years). _AF
