The Community meets representatives of parents of students from Sandy-Ground schools

The Human Development Pole - Department of Education - of the community of Saint-Martin invited the parents of students from schools Jérôme Beaupère and Aline Hanson from Sandy-Ground, to a technical meeting, in order to inform them of the progress of building repair work.

In the presence of the Deputy Academic Director of National Education Services (IA-DAASEN), Michel Sanz, of the Inspector of National Education (IEN) of the North Islands, Dominique Boyer, directors of the two schools, of the DGA from the Sustainable Development Pole in charge of repairing schools, the DGA from the Human Development Pole and the Director of Community Education. This meeting was an opportunity to explain to parents the extent of the damage caused to the building by Hurricane Irma, and the work that will be undertaken to repair these two establishments of the 1st degree.

The option chosen in agreement with the parents and the National Education is to maintain hourly rotations until the end of June. Small work will be undertaken by then by the community, knowing that the bulk of the site will be carried out during the long school holidays.

Roofing, fencing, painting and interior work are needed to restore these two schools.

It was mutually agreed that the delivery of the site would be made for the start of the school year in September 2018, with a final return to normal class schedules.
