0

Since January 1, 2017, Saint-Martin has been part of the regional surveillance zone of the Guadeloupe Regional Air Quality Observatory.

In this context, Gwad'Air launched in collaboration with the COM an assessment of air quality on the island, by deploying its mobile measurement station on Monday, April 29, at the Vanterpool stadium, in Marigot and then at the Omer Arrondel school in Orléans district.

In accordance with the regulations in force, the pollutants measured will include fine particles PM10, nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), ozone (O3) and carbon monoxide (CO). This study will assess the air pollution generated by human activities such as automobile traffic and industrial activities. The measurements carried out will also make it possible to identify air pollution of natural origin, notably linked to sand mists.
