When they came to the Northern Islands, a week after cyclone IRMA, the President of the Republic and the Minister of National Education set the objective of gradually resuming school by the start of the All Saints holidays and full schooling from November 6.

Two months after IRMA and according to the Academy of Guadeloupe, the objective is reached since 100% of the students of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin are schooled!

And this, thanks to the mobilization of all, State services, COM of the two islands, gendarmerie, civil security and many others, the staff of National Education, under the impetus and coordination of the services of the National Education of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, the permanent support of the rector and the departments of the rectorate, in close collaboration with the principals / principals of schools and the heads of establishment, mobilized all their forces and their energy, despite the difficulties, to welcome from September 25 in Saint-Barthélemy, October 2 in Saint-Martin, students of 1st and 2nd degree.

They were helped by the staff of the COM of each school, the support and the benevolent understanding of the families and especially the smile of the students who were happy to be able to go back to school.

In Saint-Martin, 19 out of 21 schools reopened between 2 and 23 October, either on their premises or on the premises of another school. These 19 schools welcomed 4300 students out of 7190 expected, or, for this period, 59,7% of students.

The reopening of the 21 schools in Saint-Martin will be total and complete on November 6, 2017.

From November 6, the Simeonne Trott nursery school in Concordia will be housed at the Evelina Halley nursery school which will welcome students from the 2 establishments (Evelina Halley nursery school and Simeonne Trott nursery school) according to the same principle of rotation.

The COM of Saint-Martin and the State services are mobilizing so that these two schools can reopen as soon as possible.

As of November 6, the Soualiga college in Cul-de-Sac will be housed in its entirety on the premises of the Robert Weinum school complex. The college section of the school complex will then welcome students from Robert Weinum college and students from Soualiga college. An educational reflection between the teaching teams around the school heads is underway in order to organize the best possible rotation according to the number of students and the available premises.

It now remains to know the official figure of the teachers who will be present on Monday 6 November in the various schools in Saint-Martin. This is the question that parents of students are entitled to ask!_AF
