Economy: The State supports businesses in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy

Faced with the Covid-19 health crisis, the State is showing solidarity with economic players and employees.

As of October 19, 2020, 2161 requests for partial activity had been validated in the Northern Islands for the benefit of 12 employees. In accordance with the economic fabric of these territories, 828% of requests come from Very small companies (87 to 1 employees) for the benefit of 9% of their employees. Companies with 45 or more employees represent a small part of the requests, but their employees alone constitute 50% of the beneficiaries.

The amount paid for the Northern Islands is € 28: € 15 for Saint Martin and  € 12 for Saint Barthélemy.

The Prefecture calls on all citizens to continue to respect barrier gestures (social distancing, hand washing, wearing a mask) and invites everyone to act in the collective interest.

Only a common, lasting and constant commitment in the fight against the virus will allow the rapid recovery of our economy.
