ECONOMY: Projects that never saw the light of day

Saint-Martin has never missed projects. Whether private or public. But only very few have been successful. That is why today it is difficult to believe in new people. Here are some of the projects announced that have never materialized for various reasons.

• Bypass Marigot

Road infrastructure projects are regularly presented by elected officials. In 2013 in particular, the COM was responsible for the Marigot bypass, between the Marigot center and Concordia, and had commissioned Semsamar to ensure delegated contracting authority.

Last year, the circumvention of Grand Case reappeared in the priorities. Specifically, the COM must imperatively build a new road behind the airport to make it possible to extend the runway, which runs over the current road.

In 2015, according to the road master plan, the construction of new roads (without the cost of studies and land acquisitions) was estimated at 43,2 million euros.
