Biologically confirmed cases of dengue have been reported since last March in the Caribbean "reflecting an indigenous circulation of dengue in the area", according to the point "Arboviroses, special dengue" from Public Health France. This indigenous transmission reflects “a risk of importation into our West Indian territories”. The bulletin recalls the last major epidemics “whose majority serotype is DEN-2 dates back 10 years in Guadeloupe and Saint-Martin (epidemics 2008-2009) and less than 5 years in Saint-Barthélemy”. Public Health France draws the attention of health professionals "to the need for early detection of clinically suggestive cases of dengue by biological confirmation adapted to the current context". _EH
