Coronavirus Imminent arrival of "Diksmuide" in Saint-Martin!

According to the latest information, the amphibious helicopter carrier (PHA), the "Dixmude" is expected in the coming hours in Saint-Martin.

The ship which left the port of Toulon on April 3, as part of the “Resilience” mission to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, has adapted its speed in order to stay at sea for at least 14 days. A delay which makes it possible to ensure that the building and its crew are free from any contamination with the coronavirus, before proceeding with the operations of disembarking of personnel and materials for which the most recent of the PHA of the French Navy has been specially armed and configured.

Diksmuide comes to lend a hand to local civil and military authorities in the difficult management of the health crisis, in Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana and the Northern Islands.

The boat, which brings 140 tons of freight and four helicopters (one from civil security, one from the gendarmerie and two soldiers) will dock in Guadeloupe on Saturday April 18. This Friday, April 17, he will first be in Saint-Martin to unload part of his cargo.
In total, the ship carries 170 FFP000 masks, 2 million surgical masks and hydroalcoholic gels. The building will unload all its equipment at each stopover.
