CLSPD: Establishment of the monitoring unit in the neighborhoods

0

The Local Council for Security and Crime Prevention (CLSPD) met its monitoring unit in mid-December in Quartier d'Orléans, in the presence of Martine BELDOR, territorial councilor, in charge of employment, training , apprenticeship and integration and Annick PETRUS, territorial councilor and Senator of Saint-Martin. Vice-Rector Harry Christophe and representatives of law enforcement were also present, as were representatives of Neighborhood Council No. 1 and neighborhood associations.

The central role of the CLSPD monitoring unit is to monitor tensions in the neighborhoods and mobilize local actors to find solutions, while taking into account the grievances of the population and the improvements to be made.

Among the topics on the agenda, the presentation of the initiatives carried out by institutional and private actors in favor of social cohesion in the Quartier d'Orléans sector: the Territorial Security and Crime Prevention Plan (PTSPD) , City Policy, community life, sports facilities and neighborhood events.

The inhabitants previously raised complaints mainly related to insecurity, disturbances to public order, public tranquility and the living environment. The CLSPD has thus undertaken to follow the developments of the Collectivity in the service of the inhabitants of the sector.

The opening of new local services (gendarmerie – La Poste – relocation of Maison France Services) on the ground floor of the Les Hirondelles de la Semsamar residence, by mid-January, is a significant step forward for residents of the area.

Public institutions, Collectivity and State, will continue to provide financial support to neighborhood associations through annual grants and calls for projects, within the framework of city policy.

The Collectivity is also committed to the complete rehabilitation of the Thelbert Carti stadium, whose renovation work is in progress, with the construction of changing rooms as the next step. In terms of education, the Micro-folies mobile cultural system (digital museum) will be deployed within the Roches Gravées middle school in Moho, from the start of the school year in January.

A progress report will be carried out at the end of the 1st quarter of 2023, in order to take stock of the various projects undertaken by the Collectivity and monitored by the CLSPD, in the Quartier d'Orléans sector.

As Annick Pétrus pointed out: “These meetings in the field are very important because they allow discussion, making proposals and improving what already exists. When we finish the rehabilitation program of Quartier d'Orléans, you won't recognize your neighborhood anymore”!
