“Saint-Martin Wake Up”: a four-page list of demands

0

The list of demands of “Saint-Martin Wake Up”, sent to the media on Thursday, is long and concerns several areas, including heritage protection. We will dwell on the complaints relating to the carbets of Orient Bay, the real trigger of blockages on the national road.

In total, four pages of general and specific demands to the BO were written by the collective: we understand better why the meeting with the prefect Anne Laubies Wednesday afternoon lasted 4:30, resulting in a failure of the negotiations. The same evening, the president of the Collectivity Aline Hanson took note of the main complaint of the three restaurateurs “refusing to sign their AOT contract” by “claiming that the rental price was too high”. Among the claims concerning the BO, the collective demands compensation for the loss of income during the construction of the carbets; compensation for old buildings demolished without agreement; an AOT contract extended from 3 to 5 years; a document stating that the kitchens meet standards; a ban on shops and water sports from selling food, alcohol and renting sunbeds; cleaning of the beach and covered decks. The national road was still blocked at the level of Quartier d'Orléans, at the time of going to press.
