CoVID-19 The Hospital Center under tension

The white plan was launched on Thursday, August 12 at the Louis Constant Fleming hospital center. Non-emergency operations have been deprogrammed in order to open additional beds to patients with Covid

The CH Louis Constant Fleming welcomed 23 patients with Covid-19 last week, informed the director of the Hospital Center, Marie-Antoinette Lampis during a press conference. “For two days, we have seen an exponential acceleration in the number of people hospitalized,” she said. To absorb the influx and mobilize all the vital forces of the hospital, the white plan was launched. 8 additional beds have been opened to increase the capacity to accommodate coronavirus patients. The average age of the 23 people cared for by CH Louis Constant Fleming is 70 years old. A youngster of 16 was also admitted and the oldest patient at 89 years old. Among the patients, three people were ventilated, specifies the director. 100% of people hospitalized are not vaccinated, deplores Marie-Antoinette Lampis. Note that due to the health situation in Guadeloupe, medical evacuations for the most critical cases are no longer possible where they are done "drop by drop ... you have to wait for beds to become available" sometimes "for people to die" she explained. Three nurses with resuscitation skills arrived in the territory last week and further reinforcements are expected.
