Great success for the laureates' evening

Last Friday, at the Sandy Ground cultural center, the Collectivity presented end-of-cycle diplomas to 168 young baccalaureate graduates and distinctions to certain students enrolled in higher studies.

“Following one's path should inspire others to forge their own path”, it was with this encouraging thought that the leaders started the evening. In the presence of the president of the Collectivity Aline Hanson, of the prefect Anne Laubies and of the senator Guillaume Arnel, the winners paraded on the stage to receive their reward. According to Ms. Hanson, bachelor's degree in hand, it is now up to the Collectivity to supervise, promote and encourage these young laureates in the path they choose. With 80,3% success this year, there is progress, she continues. The president took the opportunity to congratulate the managers of the Northern Islands high school and parents for their work. Of the 280 students who are eligible for scholarships this year, 15 are in master I, 8 in master II and 2 in doctorates. Finally, the president reminded the students that their studies are expensive for the COM, and that it is important that they take their studies seriously. _KL
