Sixteen senators including A. Petrus propose a law to abolish the obligation to vaccinate caregivers

On June 16, a group of sixteen parliamentarians, including Annick Petrus, tabled a bill to repeal the vaccination obligation for caregivers and firefighters. The suggested law has three articles.

The first repeals the articles or part of an article of the law of August 5, 2021 relating to the management of the health crisis, i.e. the law which had defined the professionals who had to undergo vaccination against covid-19, the conditions and consequences of this duty.

Article 2 of the bill proposes that “[concerned] public service agents retain the status they had before their suspension”. The last article provides that “any loss of revenue resulting for the State from the application of this law should be compensated, in proportion, by an additional excise tax on tobacco”.

The text of this bill must be the subject of work in committee before passing in public session to the Senate then to the National Assembly in first reading. It will then return to the Senate for second reading. (soualigapost.com)
