Last Thursday, the population was invited to Lapierre's Marble to share the favorites of the artist Mathias Durand-Reynaldo alias Coccinella. A hundred art lovers attended this cultural event.

For Coccinella, this meeting with the public was a success. On this occasion, he showed more than 180 slides representing nearly 120 works. “Most people did not know the works on display and they loved my approach to this or that detail,” he explains. Take the Greek statue of Artemis, did you know that the goddess wears the same shoes as Leonardo Di Caprio's ex? Michelangelo's Pietà impressed many, as one of the creations of the Chinese sculptor Cai Guo-Qiang.

“This is one of the most appalling works in the world and at the same time one of the most beautiful, because this artist intentionally killed and stuffed a hundred wolves to make the public react. Ultimately, this work saved thousands of wolves, ”he says. There have also been great classics like Rodin's “The Door to Hell”. This conference will take place soon in Saint-Barthélemy. Coccinella would like to create a more refined version for children, and if possible present it in schools.
