Carbets from Orient Bay, located on plot AW34, should be ready for the start of the high season. For the moment, the construction of the new tourist complex has not been delayed.
“We did a lot of soil consolidation work on the beach, but that didn't affect the planning. The site is progressing well and the delivery of the carbets is still scheduled for mid-November, ”explains Jose Carti, charged by the Community to supervise the work on the carbets. In order to protect the new buildings from the swell, it was necessary to build a retaining wall. COM representatives are due to visit a witness carbet shortly. The overall financing of the project, built with the support of Semsamar, amounts to 3,7 million euros. This new tourist complex will accommodate 8 restaurants, 4 shops, 15 kiosks, 3 nautical clubs and a large parking lot.
Who will be entitled to an AOT?
According to COM information, the operators who were already present on the site will have priority for the allocation of AOTs (temporary occupation authorization). They will however have the obligation to follow the specifications, set by the COM. AOTs will be issued to operators when the lot allocation committee meets this month. The rent, fixed by the next executive council, will be proportional to the value of the leased infrastructure.
