UPESM: “Our children feel abused and abandoned”

0

In an open letter addressed to the population, the Union of Parents of Pupils of Saint-Martin (UPESM) denounces inappropriate teaching for the educational success of young people in secondary school. The cause: a lack of responsibility among some teachers, accompanied by a high rate of absenteeism.

In terms of teaching, the UPESM highlights “scandalous attitudes” of certain teachers who “botch their lessons in class” and offer “unstructured, incomprehensible lessons and are subsequently surprised that the pupils have not. no working method ”. Concerning absenteeism, the union points out that “some teachers have repeated absences, not long enough to be replaced, but repeated so often that the teaching deficit in the subject is enormous”. These practices have “serious consequences for the education of students”. In its letter, the UPESM also denounces an “organized absenteeism” for years. Finally, the educational tools would leave something to be desired: the Pronote software - whose goal for parents is to monitor education - is not up to date, according to the union.
