A section of rue de Hollande redesigned for pedestrians!

Following on from the work to widen the shoulders surrounding the Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium in Marigot, the Collectivity will begin a new phase of work in 2019 by creating a larger and more pleasant pedestrian area in rue de Hollande at level of the front of the stadium.

The car parks located in the back alley along the rue de Hollande will be transferred to the grounds of the former Nina Duverly school, which should soon be demolished. Deconstruction work is currently pending asbestos studies. This site of the old school will later become the new administrative city of the Collectivity.

For the time being, the Collectivity wishes to make the rue de Hollande more attractive for pedestrians, by widening the sidewalks, by creating kiosks dedicated to fast food with specific receptacles for used oils, by redeveloping and enhancing the old well located there and creating shaded areas with public benches and other street furniture, as well as appropriate lighting.

In a slightly more distant term, the Collectivité plans to continue all the rehabilitation of rue de Hollande, up to the crossroads between rue de la République and rue de Concordia.
