As part of the national day of access to the law which took place on Tuesday, it was notably proposed in Saint-Martin a conference and round table on the theme of concealed work. The objective was to make business leaders aware of the risks incurred if they do not declare by their employees and the employees of the damages they may suffer.

Lawyers from the bar of Guadeloupe and Saint-Martin specializing in labor law, representatives of the CGSS, the border police, chartered accountant thus responded to the invitation of the departmental center for access to law, organizer of the day in partnership with the association Trait d'Union France Victimes and the CCISM.

Undeclared work is relatively common in Saint-Martin. In 2021, the border police handled 37 files, a record number since 2012. In 2019, the PAF had managed 30 files, 26 in 2018, a dozen in 2016 and 2017. The local court of Saint-Martin examines in a manner regular this type of business.

In an attempt to reduce undeclared work and its recourse only legal professionals have agreed to participate in these conference debates on Tuesday. However, no business leader was present and had not responded to the invitation of the partners of this day of access to the law. (soualigapost.com)
