Every year, the port of Gustavia organizes regattas, a public ball as well as various games and competitions on the Quai du Général-de-Gaulle to commemorate the patron saint of the island. Several Saint-Martin officials took part in the festivities organized at the Hôtel de la Collectivité in Saint-Barthélemy.
This August 24, 2022, on the occasion of the feast of Saint-Barthélemy, Mr. Prefect Vincent Berton was accompanied by Mrs. Anna Cohen during the traditional laying of wreaths at the War Memorial of the Collectivity. On behalf of the Minister of the Interior and Overseas Territories, the Prefect presented him with the Medal of Honor for Overseas Engagement for his management of the health crisis on the territory. Michel Petit, 4th vice-president, represented the Collectivity of Saint-Martin alongside the Prefect, Xavier Lédée, president of the Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy accompanied by local elected officials, former president Bruno Madras and the MP for Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, Frantz Gumbs. Guy Losbar, President of the Departmental Council of Guadeloupe was also present to confirm the bonds of friendship between the communities, to discuss the issues of cultural and economic cooperation but also on the question of institutional development. The official celebrations of the patronal feast then gave way to traditional events organized by the Collectivité of Saint-Barthélemy.
