Saint-Barth Cata-Cup: The best of Formula 18 are there

A high-level sporting event, the Saint-Barth Cata-Cup, organized by the Saint-Barth Multihulls association, will take place from 20 to 24 November 2019, on the water bodies of Saint-Barthélemy. A competition where lovers of the catamaran rub shoulders, ranging from the world champion, to the simple practitioners of Saint-Barth and the neighboring islands.

After three editions in 1992, 1993 and 1994, the Saint-Barth Cata-Cup was relaunched in 2008 by Vincent Jordil, Jeff Ledée and Thierry Lhinares. It is therefore in less than two months that the 12th edition will start, which brings together the best Formula 18 racers of the moment. This will again be verified with the presence of Argentines Cruz Gonzalez Smith and Mariano Heuser, and of the Greek Konstantinos Trigonis.

All three signed a podium at the last world class, last July, in Spain, and logically announce themselves as formidable competitors, as they have already shown in two last editions in terms of water from Saint-Barthélemy.

Konstantinos Trigonis, who will be associated with Marc Pirinoli, has already shown great things alongside the Italian, recently taking second place in the Archipelago Raid in Sweden. Already, no fewer than 59 teams, representing 11 nations, have confirmed their registration for the Formula 18 event. On the other hand, the Saint-Barth Cata-Cup is one of the first events to launch the tourist season in Saint-Barthélemy. The 12th edition of this nautical competition can be followed on the website www.stbarthcatacup.com as well as on the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. _RM
