Ms. Madeleine Mathieu, Director of Judicial Youth Protection (PJJ), traveled to Saint-Martin on April 24 and 25, 2019 to meet the staff of the Educational Unit of Open Environment (UEMO) of Saint-Martin , responsible for ensuring the execution and monitoring of judicial measures pronounced against minors and young adults.
Madeleine Mathieu had committed, in December 2017, during her visit following the Irma crossing, to come back to support the multidisciplinary team, led by Mrs. Nathalie Daisse.
She was able to welcome the exceptional investment made by PJJ agents on a daily basis with these young people and their families, in order to offer them prospects for social and professional integration, and to prevent recidivism.
Every day, the professionals of the UEMO implement with young people, for example, citizen actions (within the framework of a partnership with the Fondation de France in particular) or road safety workshops.
Ms. Mathieu's trip to the Antilles then continued with a two-day visit to Martinique.
