Math Week: enigma of the school city

Here is the last riddle of the week proposed by the class of 6th A of the school city. The students were helped by their teacher Hélène Raux. You will find the results of all the puzzles next week.

 

Riddle:

The petrol station pump is out of order, but a customer absolutely needs 4 liters of petrol for his scooter.

To serve it, the clever pump attendant uses 3 containers that can contain:

- the first 11 liters;

- the second 13 liters;

- the third 6 liters.

The pump attendant can:

- fill each container with gasoline from the tank or from another

container;

- empty each container into another or into the tank.

How will it measure 4 liters?
