Proclaimed at the 40e session of the General Conference of UNESCO in 2019, World Art Day aims to promote the diversity of cultural expressions and artistic works, as well as to highlight the actions of artists to global sustainable development.

On April 15 of each year, the celebrations of World Art Day help to strengthen the links between artistic creations and society, art is a wealth that makes it possible to better decipher the world, to keep an open mind , to stimulate their creativity, to express their emotions but also to preserve memory and history. Life is short, art is long. It is within the framework of this world day that the documentary center library (BCD) of the Aline Hanson school at Sandy Ground has partnered with the local artist Kaël Fazer, visual artist, graphic designer and former student of the establishment. , to organize an exhibition on art with the theme "minimalist effigies". The schoolchildren of cycles 2 and 3 were thus able to discover over two days on April 4 and 5 last paintings, easels and sculptures, with a demonstration of the artist in full creation. The objectives of this internal initiative are multiple, to promote the whole of the artistic heritage with the educational community, to emphasize the discovery and understanding of this heritage, to allow the teaching team to forge links with local actors. , encourage students to participate in actions related to art, acquire a personal artistic culture, develop their taste for these practices such as plastic arts, visual arts, digital arts, etc. The proclamation of World Art Day, aimed at promoting the development, dissemination and enjoyment of art, was warmly welcomed by the artistic world. Art fuels creativity, innovation and cultural diversity for all peoples of the world and plays an important role in sharing knowledge and encouraging curiosity and dialogue. As many qualities as art will always have if we continue to support environments that promote and protect artists and artistic freedom. In this sense, the development of art also contributes to the realization of a free and peaceful world, and the adults of the Aline Hanson school have understood this well. As Auguste Rodin said so well, "Art is man's most sublime mission, since it is the exercise of thought which seeks to understand the world and to make it understood". _VX
