Road safety: Removal of debris and bulky items on public roads: the Collectivity put in default by the Prefecture

0

During the events of the past few days, the prefecture requisitioned resources to remove the carcasses of vehicles as part of the restoration of public order.

However, a lot of debris still clogs the public highway and is a source of danger, especially on roads devoid of public lighting. A two-wheeler driver lost his life last Friday after hitting bulky items on the roadway in Quartier d'Orléans.

• The Community put in notice to ensure the removal of debris

In accordance with article LO 6314-3 of the general code of territorial collectivities, the Collectivity is only competent in matters of roads and road traffic.

In this context, the prefecture has given notice to the Collectivity to have the debris, waste and bulky items remaining on the road removed, and to take all the measures necessary for cleaning the roads within 72 hours.

• For the end of the year celebrations, caution is on the road

The prefecture and the gendarmerie remind us of the need to be extra vigilant and avoid risky behavior behind the wheel and on two wheels.
