The five attempts to resolve the crisis by the COM presidency proved unsuccessful, with the union still demanding the departure of the DGS.

The blocking of the services of the Collectivity started nearly a month ago by the union UNI.T 978 and around thirty COM agents was still in progress yesterday.

Last Friday, a group of strikers disrupted a long-planned meeting between the UNSA TERRITORIAUX SXM union and the DGS. An irruption that the union in question denounced in a press release, considering that it was “more barbaric than union action”. "It is not the escapades of a thug, a puppet moreover in need of recognition, which will disturb us in our action in favor of our constituents." they added.  Saturday July 24, the day after this disturbed meeting between UNSA TERRITORIAUX SXM and the DGS of the COM, Daniel Gibbs sent a letter to UNI.T 978. In order to be able to resume the dialogue, as desired by all parties, Daniel Gibbs asked the strikers to lift the blockade of the COM services, and in particular the one illegally obstructing the street leading to the COM, Monday July 26 from 8 am. While declaring himself attached to the consensus and accepting the proposal to resume the dialogue, he reaffirmed that he would not hold any negotiation meeting with UNI.T 978 or any other trade union organization, without the presence of its technicians in order to move forward on the issues. “Real technical points” raised by the strikers. Technicians with whom UNI.T 978 has so far refused to negotiate.

The meeting proposed on Monday July 26 at 9 a.m. was held despite the still ongoing blockage.

“Faced with the refusal to dialogue on the claims relating to territorial agents and the maintenance of the blockages affirmed by the Uni.t978, the discussion once again proved fruitless. The president took note of this. Daniel Gibbs said Monday afternoon in a statement, assuring that he and his majority remained open "to a respectful, demanding and rational dialogue".

Tuesday July 27, the day after this fifth attempt at negotiations, UNI.T 978 maintained the blockage and camped on its positions with the same 30 demands, the first of which, requiring the departure of the DGS and its team, remains a prerequisite for the review of the following.
