Health: Creation of five “health care stop beds” in Saint-Martin!

0

They are intended to accommodate homeless people to provide them with care.

The Health Care Stop Beds (LHSS) are medico-social establishments that allow “a comprehensive care modality in a specific location for homeless people regardless of their administrative situation”. The regional health agency (ARS) has just launched a call for projects to create five in Saint-Martin. "The objective of this call for projects is to complete the medico-social offer, by pooling with the existing health offer in order to welcome people whose state of health or general condition does not require a in hospital or medico-social care but requires comprehensive and coordinated care in the territory of the Saint-Martin community, ”explains ARS.

These beds will be used to accommodate homeless people, whose pathology or general condition does not require specialized hospital or medico-social care. Admissions will be pronounced at the request of people by the LHS manager and on the advice of the structure doctor. At the level of medical care provided, the doctor must establish a diagnosis, prescriptions and monitoring of care. He must also ensure their continuity when leaving the device. The doctor will also indicate if the treatment is administered by the nursing staff or if the person manages it alone. Examinations (radios, laboratory analyzes, etc.) may be requested and carried out according to conventions or protocols with partners in the public and private sectors.

The LHSS structure will also have day-care staff from social workers whose mission will be to help people in care to access their rights.

The ARS will allocate a global annual allocation of some 290 euros to ensure the functioning of the beds. However, it will not participate in the acquisition of land or the construction of buildings if necessary to create this structure. Preferably, the five health care drop-off beds must be attached to a structure such as accommodation and social or health rehabilitation center (CHRS).
