On the occasion of World Obesity Day, the French overseas department announced the launch of the Nutrition - Sport - Health Priority campaign, which aims to reduce social inequalities in health and promote better eating practices and lifestyle.
In this context, the ministry is opening a platform in which each citizen, association, university, company can submit their proposals and ideas to build "zero exclusion" territories, where nutrition, sport and health are priorities for all. This platform will be open until April 19, 2020.
The ministry and several health specialists will then designate the three best proposals. The winners will be invited to participate in a dedicated event in May 2020 in Paris.
Part of the Overseas Trajectory 5.0, the Nutrition-Sport-Health Priority campaign will be one of the concretizations of the “zero exclusion” objective.
"The inhabitants of the overseas territories are more affected by chronic diseases linked to food such as obesity, diabetes or hypertension than their compatriots in France", declares Annick Girardin, Minister for overseas territories. sea. “We can no longer leave entire generations drawn into the spiral of overweight and addiction, which is why I announced the launch of this contest last January. We all have a role to play: local producers, importers, communities, school canteens, teachers, families, doctors ... I call on everyone to mobilize in this fight, so that we can build together “zero exclusion” territories.
