Sandy Ground on the Move Insertion: new employees in the spotlight

The Sandy Ground on the Move Insertion team is growing: 30 employees, from 17 to 30 years old, have joined the troops of the association which works for the professional integration of the young people of Saint-Martin. Yesterday, a welcome lunch in the presence of the partners was held at the Sandy Ground cultural center.

Alongside the president of the association Georges Richardson, the director Marjorie Antoine presented the new employees hired on subsidized contracts, the team responsible for their socio-professional support and the various partners, ACED, the Collectivity, Pôle Emploi, Initiative Saint-Martin Active and the State. "We need to value young people who want to work (…) we push them to go ahead and give the best of themselves," said the director, who welcomed them in "This big family".

The association, which now has 52 employees, is committed to supporting them in their professional integration journey "which will not be easy" due in particular to the economic difficulties of the island, mentioned the director. For the youngest, this is their first job: a great opportunity to learn about the world of work. The purpose of this experiment, which started last Tuesday, is to allow them to open other doors. The safety of children around schools has been entrusted to women, and the maintenance of green spaces and sports facilities to men. Josiane Carti represented the president of the Aline Hanson Collectivity. In her speech, she recalled that youth is one of the priorities of the COM, and praised the "flawless investment" of the members of the association. The prefect Anne Laubies and the director of the social cohesion pole of the prefecture Marie-Hélène Coutant also took part in the lunch.
