Bethany Home: a new bus for seniors

0

By the end of the year, residents of Ehpad Bethany Home will benefit from a brand new bus to participate in outdoor activities. This initiative, supported by the Semsamar Solidarités corporate foundation, Semsamar and the “Rambaud Saint-Louis Fête” association, is a fine example of solidarity with the elderly.

At the Semsamar headquarters in Marigot, the president of the Semsamar Solidarités foundation Jeanne Rogers-Vanterpool and the president of Semsamar Wendel Cocks yesterday handed a check for 12.000 euros to the president of the association "Rambaud Saint-Louis Fête" Etienne Andrew in order to participate in the financing of this new bus. It is the association which requested the assistance of the foundation concerning this project estimated at 59.970 euros. During its last meeting, the foundation's board of directors decided to support this initiative and awarded a grant of 10.000 euros. Semsamar has also made a gesture by paying a subsidy of 2000 euros. "Semsamar has responded to our wish," says Etienne Andrew, thanking the institution. "This is a sustainable project, a bus specially equipped to accommodate the elderly" and "this commitment is completely natural, because we are already an important player in taking into account the problems of senior citizens in the Antilles “, Emphasizes Wendel Cocks, taking advantage of this opportunity to launch a call for donations to the population and businesses in order to complete the funding for this bus. There remains 3 euros to find to place the order.
