Saint-Barthélemy: Johnny Hallyday, the legend of French rock, now rests in peace at the Lorient cemetery

A choir, two songs by Elvis Presley, white flowers. Johnny Hallyday was buried yesterday afternoon on the sister island of Saint Barth according to his will. David Hallyday and Laura Smet were next to Laetitia.

To say goodbye to the rock legend, they were nearly 80 relatives, gathered yesterday on the sister island of St-Barth. His family obviously, Laeticia Hallyday and his two daughters, Jade and Joy, the two eldest of Johnny, David and Laura, but also his closest friends. From Jean-Claude Camus to Sébastien Farran, passing by Yarol Poupaud and Jean Reno, the godfather of Jade. They were all dressed in white, the color of mourning in the West Indies, but above all one of Johnny's wishes. On the way to the cemetery, the procession was followed by many bikers. The inhabitants of Saint Barth also threw roses and hibiscus as the hearse passed. After a short service at the cemetery - its access had been cordoned off within a radius of 100 meters around - the relatives had to say goodbye to Johnny, thanking him for this rock'n'roll life.

Because after all, as Arthur Rimbaud said, "memories are the most beautiful things you can bring into eternity".
