Jean-Pierre Spilbauer, mayor of the city of Bry sur Marne, visited Saint-Martin on December 6 and 7, accompanied by Bruno Philippot, coordinator of the city's youth municipal council.

On Wednesday December 6, guided by an elected representative of the Junior Territorial Council and the technicians of the Youth service and the economic development pole of the community, the mayor and his coordinator were able to measure the damage caused by Irma on public and private infrastructure, thanks a field visit orchestrated by the community. From Oyster-Pond to Terres-Basses, via Orleans, Orient Bay, Grand Case, Marigot and Sandy Ground, the mayor was able to grasp the real situation of the territory three months after the passage of the hurricane. In the afternoon, the mayor was able to meet with members of the Territorial Youth Council of Saint-Martin to prepare a toy distribution operation for the children of the island.

Thursday morning, the mayor of Bry sur Marne was received by the President Daniel Gibbs and his vice-presidents, at the hotel of the community, within the framework of a moment of exchanges with the elected officials of the executive.

Recall that the city of Bry sur Marne was particularly generous with Saint-Martin, by voting last October for a donation from the municipal council of € 85 for Saint-Martin after the passage of IRMA. President Gibbs welcomed this gesture and thanked the mayor for the support that his municipality has given to Saint Martin since its twinning (in particular the development of the audiovisual professions).
