Ceremony / The gendarmes of Saint-Martin celebrate their patron saint, Sainte Geneviève

This year, the ceremony of Saint Geneviève on Saint Martin was full of symbols with a somewhat special flavor, three months after Irma. It took place in the Church of Saint Joseph in the Quartier d'Orléans, still stained with the marks of the hurricane.

Father Karwot's sermon moved the assembly present with these words "because if you do not have faith, you must have it, faith, to be a policeman".

After the ceremony, during his speech, Lieutenant-Colonel Manzoni warmly thanked and congratulated all of the soldiers who have worked since September 6 and still now and for the future of the island, so that it can regain fully smile.
