FIRST TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT TO JULIANA

2

Sint Maarten welcomed this Sunday, July 5, its first long-haul flight since the re-opening of Juliana airport.

Sunday morning, nearly 200 passengers flew from Roissy airport on Air France flight AF498 to "Juliana Airport". Arriving on time, this first flight marks the resumption of international commercial flights to Saint Martin after the closure of Juliana in March.

The Airbus A330 "inaugural" was almost "full" since 86% full (193 passengers out of 224 seats available). The entry formalities went well, no passenger was refused, all of them having been able to justify a negative RT-PCR test (nasal) carried out in the 72 hours preceding the arrival. And all had their passports because remember, the identity card is not accepted in Juliana, St. Maarten not being part of the Shengen area.

For the return flight AF499, 206 passengers returned to Paris with takeoff on time.

This is therefore very good news for the "friendly island", which, pending the lifting of the ban on flights from the Americas, can still welcome visitors from both major cities and Europe.

Dear European travelers, St Maarten / Saint-Martin welcomes you in one of the healthiest environments of the Caribbean Islands. Don't hesitate to come and spend your holidays here!

Indeed dear reader you are right and we have changed.
The A340 was abandoned on St-Martin because it was too old, and it was replaced by the A330-200 with a new modernized cabin and a total of 224 seats.
