More than 55% of cases detected in the last 3 weeks

Since mid-March, since the confirmation of the first case of covid-19 on the island, 270 people have been infected * and 2 PCR tests have been carried out. 762 cases, or more than half (151%), were detected in the past three weeks.

During the first wave of the virus, the record number of people who contracted the virus in a week was recorded between March 30 and April 5 with 44 cases. Last week, that figure was greatly exceeded with 76 cases recorded across the island. 25 new cases have been confirmed partly French and 51 partly Dutch.

During the past two weeks, the ARS has registered 29 new cases. They were detected during the 690 PCR tests carried out over the same period. Since the beginning of July, 920 PCR tests have been carried out. A total of 1 PCR tests have been carried out, 770% since the beginning of July. The results of the French side could further increase with the free and mobile screening campaign underway; a report must be published in the afternoon of Monday according to the ARS.

Partly Dutch, the CPS (the equivalent of the ARS in Sint Maarten) has confirmed 119 new cases during the last three weeks, 83 during the last two weeks thanks to the 358 PCR tests carried out. Since the beginning of July, the CPS has carried out 469 tests and 992 since the start of the crisis.
