In Saint-Martin, the health authorities count 22 new cases of covid-19 by PCR tests in 4 days, bringing to August 25 to 198 the number of cumulative confirmed cases and to 139 active cases in French part, indicates the prefecture on Tuesday at the end of the afternoon.

11 people are hospitalized at the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital and 4 are in intensive care in Guadeloupe.

A total of 2 PCR tests have been carried out to date in Saint-Martin.

There are currently 9 confirmed patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the CHU de Guadeloupe (including 5 Guadeloupe patients and 4 patients transferred from Saint-Martin). Of these patients, 4 are over 60 years old, and 3 are under 40 years old.

To cope with the changing situation, the CHU de Guadeloupe has activated its white plan last weekend. The Saint-Martin hospital did it on Monday.

The ARS (Regional Health Agency) recalls that prioritization must be carried out:

• Priority 1: Symptomatic people should call their doctor because their case may get worse. They should not come to the doctor's office until they have been invited by their doctor. These people benefit from a prescription;

• Priority 2: people identified as a risk contact for a positive case by their doctor, health insurance or RIPOSTE and who consequently receive an SMS;

• Priority 3: people who have clearly exhibited risky behavior, despite calls to respect barrier gestures, during gatherings where health security measures have not been properly observed.

• Priority 4: other people wishing to be screened. These people can be detected without emergency.

The Regional Health Agency (ARS) invites people who are the subject of a priority 1 or 2, with their medical prescription or with the SMS, to contact their laboratory to benefit from a priority for making an appointment. you. The ARS is currently working on bringing the hospital drive up to business to allow better access to the entire population and thus provide accessibility to people classified as priority 3 or 4.
