Five individuals appeared last week before the criminal court of Saint Martin for the employment of illegal persons and concealed work on a site following a site inspection in March 2017 by PAF. They are the owner and owner, two co-managers of a Sint Maarten company, who installs the tiling, and the manager of a French company carrying out the structural work. The store manager who sells the tiling in the Dutch part and who supplied the materials, was also prosecuted but for complicity in the employment of illegal people.
After deliberation, the court sentenced the individuals to fines ranging from 1 euros to 500 euros, some of which were suspended. (More details on www.soualigapost.com)
