Marina Royale: Concrete solutions announced to traders!

A delegation of traders from the Marina Royale was received the day before yesterday by the services of the Collectivity and the State ...

The situation of the traders of the Marina Royale should improve. On March 12, they denounced the deplorable state of the site and the rise in insecurity in an open letter addressed to the COM and the Prefecture.

On Wednesday, April 3, a delegation made up of six merchants and restaurateurs including Yann Lecam, president of the AEC (economic and civic action), was received as planned in the Prefecture at 17 p.m.

Facing them, the Prefect, Sylvie Feucher and the president of the COM, Daniel Gibbs, accompanied by their respective chiefs of staff, as well as Maggy Gumbs, the city manager, Romain Perreau, the DGA of the Sustainable Development Pole at the COM, Jean -Sébastien Roca, from the French Development Agency (AFD) on a mission to the COM, as well as the gendarmerie commander, the head of the territorial police and representatives of the ARS and the Human Development Pole of the COM presented to the delegation the measures to come.

"By May 15, the Collectivity will break the parking wall to open it up, which we have been asking for a very long time, but also put the surveillance camera and lighting back into service," reports Yann Lecam. The fishing port project, which must include the entire car park, should be completed by the end of the year. If the temporary repair of the docks started on Tuesday, a larger project including their rehabilitation as well as the improvement of the lighting so that the marina can really function as such and welcome boats again, should start at the end of 2019 - early 2020.

The insecurity denounced is notably linked to the presence of "cracked" in the parking lot adjacent to the marina. The territorial police announced that it was going to accentuate its rounds, and the ARS, the Prefecture and the Gendarmerie prepared a tripartite in order to mix summons and accompaniment of these people.

"We will be satisfied in fact, but we felt that this meeting had been well prepared, that all the departments had worked together and that they took things to heart" comments Yann Lecam. An official report of this meeting will be sent to merchants in the coming hours containing a precise calendar of the commitments announced.
