The text that Bruno Le Roux, the new tenant of Place Beauvau, will defend before Parliament sets a common rule for the use of firearms by police and gendarmes. The former may, like the latter, use them after summons to arrest a recalcitrant person in their care or to stop a driver driving towards them.
